a summer frock

Written by ogo on . Posted in Brighter than springtime, Resort & tropical

With summer about to begin in many parts of the world, you have a chance to show your style while you enjoy the great outdoors.  Here in the Palm Beaches, it is summer virtually all year.  OgoVintage knows how to stay comfortable and fashionable while dressing for summer weather and events.  Grab your chance to wear a caftan and slides, at the beach, poolside, or entertaining friends.  Wear a lightweight frock and sandals when the temperature dials upward – nothing is cooler and more comfortable than a light and floaty dress.

Most of the dresses and skirts shown are available at the OgoVintage etsy shop.  The James Lakeland crinkle silk floral dress is a contemporary piece, and is available at the OgoVintageShop on ebay.  Please click through the ebay link to the right if you would like to purchase it.

Add a floaty hippie festival skirt to your wardrobe, to wear in the city or the country.  The festival skirt selection shown below is available now at the OgoVintage etsy shop, and both skirts are reversible.

Take some time to smell the roses this summer, get out and about, attend festivals, fairs and artistic events, and spend time enjoying it all with friends and family.  Just don’t forego being stylish while doing so.

Spring Dressing

Written by ogo on . Posted in Brighter than springtime, Romantic & Seductive

What a long, cold winter it has been!  Winter came early, hit hard and stayed far too long.  That chic puffer coat you lusted for and the designer cashmere or alpaca that you splurged on have gone from treasured new favorites to reviled necessities.  Finally… it is time to shed those many layers and lighten up.  Nothing says spring like a light or brightly colored new dress.  Whether your inclination is to reach for pastels or primary brights, your mood and look will benefit instantly.

Some vintage styles are classics that work for many body types.  The 1960s A-line silhouette is timeless and ageless, when executed in a quality textile with fine tailoring.  Whether you opt for a modern rendition, or choose a high quality vintage piece, these dresses are wonderful additions to your permanent wardrobe.  The 1950s shirtwaist style is a favorite of trendy Gen-Xers, who style the dresses with imagination and flair.

Some of the dresses shown below are for sale at the OgoVintage etsy shop or OgoVintage ebay store.  Some have been sold and some have not yet been listed.  If one in particular speaks to you, please email OGO for assistance.

So… welcome spring, buy some fresh cut flowers, plant some kitchen herbs, meet a friend for an al fresco dinner or drinks, take the dog on a long stroll, pack up your winter wardrobe for another year and treat yourself to a pretty springtime frock!
